Admissions Requirements

Students seeking admission to The Art Institute Online must meet the following program requirements.

For Advertising, Graphic Design, Multimedia & Web Design and Interior Design programs: The prospective student must be a high school graduate with a high school GPA of 2.0, or hold a General Education Development (GED) Certificate with a score of 225 or higher, or an Associates degree or higher as a prerequisite for admission.

For Digital Design, Residential Planning and Web Design programs: The prospective student must be a high school graduate with a high school GPA of 1.5, or hold a General Education Development (GED) Certificate with a score of 225 or higher, or an Associates degree or higher as a prerequisite for admission.

For Game Art & Design program: The prospective student must be a high school graduate with a high school GPA of 2.5, or hold a General Educational Development (GED) Certificate with a score of 257 or higher, or an Associates degree or higher as a prerequisite for admissions.

In addition, a portfolio of three digitized drawings must be submitted for evaluation during the application process. Specific advice regarding acceptable file formats and proper submission of portfolio examples will be provided by an admissions representative during the application process.
